Overview of Position
The Program Director provides visionary and operational leadership for The GreenHouse’s comprehensive youth development programs, serving students from elementary through high school. This role combines strategic development with hands-on implementation of academic, enrichment, and workforce readiness programming. The Program Director oversees daily operations, program innovation, staff supervision (including direct reports responsible for grades K–8), stakeholder engagement, grant management, and outcomes-driven planning. Successful candidates will bring passion, organization, and a commitment to student growth, equity, and holistic development. Core Responsibilities
Program Design & Implementation
- Develop, oversee, and evaluate after-school academic and leadership programs for youth in grades K–12.
- Design and manage a structured academic initiative aligned with organizational goals and youth development best practices.
- Support the creation and adaptation of curriculum and training materials across age groups to ensure engaging, skill-building experiences.
- Coordinate student participation in special projects, faith-based activities, and leadership opportunities.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Lead and support a team of 5–10 staff and volunteers, including direct reports, overseeing elementary and middle school programming.
- Provide clear guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations across all youth program areas.
- Deliver staff training and ensure professional development aligned with program goals and compliance standards.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
Youth & Family Engagement
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with students and families, including support in navigating 1st-12th grade academics, social development, college, and career pathways.
- Facilitate regular communication with school principals, teachers, and family members.
- Monitor student progress, providing mentorship and individualized support.
Partnerships & Compliance
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and faith-based partners.
- Ensure all programs are compliant with federal, state, local, school district, and accreditation requirements, including child safety protocols.
Grant Management & Resource Development
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Grant Committee to identify funding opportunities aligned with program goals.
- Contribute to grant writing, reporting, and renewal processes by providing timely data, narratives, and program updates.
- Monitor grant-funded activities to ensure compliance with funder expectations, deliverables, and timelines.
- Support budget development and resource allocation to maximize program impact and sustainability.
Data, Communication & Reporting
- Maintain accurate program records, CRM data, and reporting documents.
- Track enrollment, retention, satisfaction, and impact metrics across all youth programs.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership, funders, and stakeholders; contribute to fundraising and outreach efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, social services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years’ experience in program management, youth development, and/or education (urban school setting preferred).
- 5 years of experience managing people and programs preferred.
- Strong background or formal training in Special Education preferred.
- Experience with grant reporting, compliance, and program evaluation preferred.
- Proven ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally with internal and external partners.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish or Farsi are highly desirable.
