Description
The Philanthropy Communications Specialist will partner with the Director, Philanthropy Communications as the creative hub of the Philanthropy Division to bring a variety of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship projects to fruition.
Collaborating with teams across Hadassah and Hadassah Offices in Israel to conceptualize and craft materials, the Philanthropy Communications Specialist will provide editorial content and graphic design execution. The role requires synthesizing complex information to create print- and web-based materials that engage, inform and move diverse donor audiences to donate.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with members of the Donor Experience Department to craft clear, persuasive print- and web-based fundraising messages
- Crafting persuasive print and digital content in partnership with the Direct Response team
- Ensuring content is consistently updated per the latest information provided by the Hadassah Medical Organization and Hadassah Offices in Israel
- Supporting Major Gifts and Stewardship efforts by writing newsletter articles, scripts, email content; and editing proposals, reports, and cases for support and other funding documents
- Populating and maintaining proposal, report, photo, and video libraries with support from the Donor Experience Project Management team.
- Liaising with staff across HWZOA to gather information for fundraising collateral.
- Designing and producing principal donor communications pieces that adhere to Hadassah brand and identity standards.
- Ensuring that messaging of all Philanthropy collateral is consistent across Philanthropy and in line with Marketing & Communications core messaging and branding standards.
- In partnership with Donor Experience volunteers, crafting major donor acknowledgment letters and tax receipts for a variety of uses, on an annual basis and for special ad-hoc fundraising initiatives, such as matching gifts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience
- BA/BS, with a concentration in English, journalism, or writing strongly preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of professional writing; experience with non-profit fundraising and/or healthcare writing strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Canva and InDesign strongly preferred
- Working with printed and digital direct response a plus
- Knowledge of Salesforce and digital project management systems preferred
