The Knight-Georgetown Institute (KGI) is hiring an Operations Associate to support the day-to-day operations of our work at the intersection of technology, policy, and research. Applications are due by April 6, 2026.

This hybrid, Washington, D.C.-based role plays a central part in ensuring smooth operations and overseeing administrative, financial, and event support at KGI. The Operations Associate will support a broad range of functions, including:

Overseeing operational and administrative functions

Managing budgeting, reconciliation of expenses, procurement, and contracts

Supporting people operations, including hiring and onboarding

Planning and managing logistics for events, meetings, travel, and retreats

Supporting the facilitation of internal and external communications
This is an exciting position for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys building structure, managing complexity, and collaborating across teams.
In addition to KGI, the Operations Associate will also provide support to two other centers under the Tech & Society Initiative at Georgetown University – the Center for Digital Ethics and the Institute for Technology Law & Policy, working at the intersection of technology, ethics, law, and governance.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can flex their skills across a wide range of operational and administrative responsibilities.
