Executive Director Position Summary
Expansion International has had great impact in transforming communities since its inception. Our desire is to continue this impact while growing and expanding in every facet of the organization. The Executive Director will lead Expansion International by driving and advancing the mission, strategy, values, and goals of the organization forward. They will inspire, engage, and develop employees, volunteers, partners, and the community to be involved in creating sustainable relief and community development solutions for the communities where Expansion International works. They will direct and lead all fundraising efforts and communication activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Fund Development: Leads the organization in the development and maintenance of strong relationships with donors to ensure the fund development strategy is achieved. Works with social-funding and international development funding ventures. Meets one-on-one with key donors and sets strategic fund development plans to propel the organization forward.
Manage Staff: Hires, and manages the staff at Expansion International. Inspires staff to be the best they can be while working as a synergized team. Ensures organization remains competitive in salary and benefits offered.
Marketing and Promotions: Leads operations to develop a strong marketing plan that develops platforms for the purpose of promoting and building contacts while supporting the fund development plan. Builds and protects the Expansion International brand.
Financial Management: Keeps the organization in proper financial health in order to meet all of its obligations. This includes budgets, controls, reporting, and other compliance requirements. Works with the Board of Directors to ensure that all fiscal policies are updated and all requirements are clear to all involved.
Program Impact: Ensures programs are specific strategic initiatives that the organization is using to meet its mission in healthcare, education, economic, and spiritual development. Ensures the objectives of each of program is measured and improved accordingly.
Organizational Planning and Execution: Develops and drives the business and execution through collaboration with partners and the Board of Directors. Uses objectives and metrics to track results. Works with the Board of Directors to develop and execute the 5-year strategic plan. Leads the organization in developing resources to manage the processes with our key partner, Expansion International Africa.
Spokesperson: Represents Expansion International at events and with the media in all forms.
Is the voice of Expansion International, easily sharing the mission and inviting others to become involved. Positively influences others to develop partners, donors, volunteers, and other resources for the organization.

* Organizational vision and strategic plans are developed and updated regularly by the Board of Directors with input from other stakeholders.

Coaches team and staff to reach their potential and achieve the goals of the organization.

Establishes systems and processes that are accountable and motivates the Board of Directors and staff to achieve results in a high-performance culture. Develops action plans to address when objectives are not met. Incorporates performance feedback from others and makes adjustments. Can be counted on to get the job done. Focuses on migrating authority and decision making to the lowest possible levels to lead an efficient, action-oriented, and knowledgeable culture. Accepts the associated risks and mistakes in the spirit of continuous learning.
