HEART is a community-focused organization committed to addressing hunger and promoting food equity in Reynoldsburg and surrounding areas. We work collaboratively with local partners, civic organizations, and volunteers to serve our neighbors with compassion and dignity.

Position Overview

HEART is seeking a visionary and dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. This role is responsible for the overall administration, strategic direction, and financial sustainability of HEART. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, and community partners to advance HEART’s mission and oversee its relocation project.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Implement and advance HEART’s strategic plan.
  • Inspire and lead staff, volunteers, and donors.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain working knowledge of hunger and food equity issues and local/state social services.

Fund Development

  • Design and execute fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, and planned giving programs.
  • Cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government entities.
  • Oversee major fundraising events including the Golf Committee and Prayer Breakfast.
  • Develop and execute a capital campaign for HEART’s relocation project.
  • Serve as liaison between the Board, landlord, builder, and architect.

Operations & Human Resources

  • Foster a positive and professional work environment.
  • Oversee staff hiring and development in alignment with HEART’s hiring procedures.
  • Ensure facility maintenance and risk management.
  • Work with the Board to develop and update policy and procedure manuals.

Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and ministry partners.
  • Represent HEART in public forums and community initiatives.

Financial Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to develop and manage the annual budget.
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Meet with Finance Committee bi-monthly.
  • Manage revenues and expenses to meet budget targets.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or community development.
  • Strong understanding of hunger and food equity issues.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Experience managing budgets and overseeing staff.
