ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated proficiency with Common Core State Standards.
- Demonstrated successful experience in implementing adopted curriculum.
- Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills.
- Ability to effectively integrate technology in daily lessons and use multiple communication systems.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and work with students, parents, staff, and community in an effective and positive manner.
- Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the students in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
- The teacher uses multiple data elements (both formative and summative) to plan,inform and adjust instruction and evaluate student learning.
- The teacher communicates high expectations for student learning and evaluatesindividual students progress regularly while maintaining records for report cards and/or parent conferences.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service training programs.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, School Policies, and the Code of Conduct.
- The teacher fosters and manages a safe and inclusive learning environment that takes into account: physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Encourages students to develop courtesy, self-control, respect, and responsibility. Establishes clear parameters for student behavior in the classroom.
- Provide lesson plans for substitute teachers.
- Participate in extra-curricular responsibilities as necessary.
- The teacher participates collaboratively to improve instruction, advance the knowledge and practice of teaching as a profession, and ultimately impact student learning.
- Desired teacher characteristics include: flexibility, creativity, organization, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of classroom instruction and presentation techniques in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of the assigned curriculum.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data.
- Ability to produce accurate records and reports.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students,parents, colleagues, administrators, and others as needed.
- Ability to learn and operate a variety of software programs and is proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive programs.
- Ability to organize and coordinate workload.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited teacher training program as determined by the Washington State Department of Education; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work and to meet certification requirements.
Grade Levels for Hire:
1 opening - 3rd Grade
2 openings - 4th Grade
1 opening - 5th Grade
1 opening - 9th Grade ( Science and History)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,500.00 - $49,500.00 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
