Description

Café Momentum is seeking a Digital Media Manager to advance our mission across digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings a passion for youth justice, strong storytelling instincts, excellent writing skills and the ability to build meaningful engagement through social media and email strategies. Reporting to the National Senior Director of Marketing & Events, the Digital Media Manager plays a critical role in elevating, monitoring and protecting the Café Momentum brand across digital platforms. This position manages the development and execution of social media and email calendars, creates content tailored to key audiences, conducts social listening and sentiment analysis and supports national and local Café Momentum digital marketing.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase Café Momentum’s visibility and reputation on social media.
  • Create, manage and maintain comprehensive social media calendars across channels.
  • Manage and execute email marketing campaigns and calendars.
  • Assist with onboarding new Café Momentum social media accounts and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Support and implement creative campaigns, fundraising and engagement strategies to grow audiences and increase impact.
  • Provide timely and accurate social media reporting that highlights KPIs, insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Development, Chief Strategy Officer, and marketing team to align on campaigns, fundraising, priorities and digital storytelling.
  • Recommend new tools, platforms, and technologies, including generative AI, that advance organizational objectives.
  • Provide training, workshops or consultative support to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Collect and curate story ideas from Café Momentum locations, movement partners and external collaborators.
  • Identify influencers, youth justice allies, community organizations and relevant national news or events aligned with Café Momentum’s mission.
  • Support Mailchimp audience segmentation and email nurture efforts.
  • Maintain organized Dropbox and Google Drive folders and create supporting documentation as needed.
  • Contribute to brainstorming, planning and execution of new fundraising and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

 

Knowledge

  • Experienced understanding of major social media platforms, analytics tools and content formats.
  • Experience managing online reputation, sentiment analysis and digital best practices.
  • Experience with how generative AI, new platforms, and tools can be used ethically in nonprofit, restaurant, justice reform and brand storytelling.
  • Experience integrating social media and email marketing to support fundraising.

 

Skills

  • Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in Canva and strong video editing skills for social platforms (Reels, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and editing content using Adobe Premiere, Photoshop or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and write emails using email marketing and automation platforms. 
  • Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt tone and messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Clear understanding of ethical AI use and discernment in content creation.
  • Creative thinking paired with strong project management, organization and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

Abilities

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in digital communications, social media management, email marketing and online marketing.
  • Required: Advanced proficiency in Canva and social-native video editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume environment and manage multiple projects from various stakeholders.  

 

Preferred Requirements

 

  • Direct experience managing a high-profile social platform (foundation, large nonprofit, corporate, entertainment or public figure).
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in generative AI tools and technologies for content creation.
  • Experienced in higher-end editing software, such as Adobe Premiere or similar.
  • Experience with social media scheduling software (Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite, Loomly, Later or similar).
  • Prior experience with social justice, youth justice organizations, higher education, large organizations or public-facing institutions is preferred but not required.
  • A self-starter who has the ability to work both as part of a remote team and independently.

 

Location

 

Dallas, Texas preferred; open to remote candidates.

 

Salary Range

$70,000 - 80,000 per year
