Development Manager – Annual Giving & Donor Engagement

We are seeking an energetic, strategic, and relationship-driven fundraising professional to lead our annual giving and donor engagement efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people to a mission, cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, and developing thoughtful strategies that inspire long-term philanthropic support.

The Development Manager – Annual Giving & Donor Engagement plays a key role in strengthening Saint Joe’s culture of philanthropy by growing the annual fund, deepening donor relationships, and creating opportunities for supporters to engage with our mission.

This role partners closely with the Chief Development Officer and the Advancement Team to develop and implement strategies that grow the annual fund, strengthen donor retention, and expand the community of supporters who sustain Saint Joe’s mission.

The Development Manager will carry a portfolio of donors and prospects, conduct prospect research, and implement thoughtful stewardship and engagement strategies designed to deepen relationships and increase philanthropic support.

Saint Joe’s signature events provide meaningful opportunities for supporters to connect with our mission and community. This role provides strategic oversight of the organization’s events program and supervises the Advancement Coordinator who will manage day-to-day planning and logistics.

The Development Manager ensures that events support broader development goals, including donor engagement, stewardship, and the cultivation of new supporters.

• Partner with leadership to develop and implement annual giving strategy
• Execute multi-channel fundraising appeals (mail, digital, peer-to-peer, and event-based campaigns)
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify new donors
• Develop strategies to increase donor retention and recurring giving
• Track engagement and giving data to guide strategy and inform decision-making
• Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community supporters

• Implement thoughtful stewardship strategies that strengthen donor relationships
• Conduct follow-up with donors and event participants to deepen engagement
• Partner with leadership and program staff to create meaningful opportunities for donors to experience the mission
• Support cultivation opportunities and engagement activities that build community around Saint Joe’s mission

• Provide strategic direction for Saint Joe’s signature fundraising events, including the Incline to the Finish Line 5K and the Golf Classic
• Supervise the Advancement Coordinator responsible for event logistics, planning, and execution
• Ensure events align with broader development goals and donor engagement strategies
• Identify opportunities to convert event participants into long-term supporters
• Support donor appreciation and engagement gatherings throughout the year
