About HomeStretch, Inc.
HomeStretch, Inc. empowers families experiencing homelessness to achieve permanent stability through housing, supportive services, and workforce development training. As we enter an exciting period of program expansion and strategic growth, we seek an experienced, visionary, and results-driven Development Director to lead our fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This is a pivotal opportunity for a seasoned development professional to shape and drive the organization’s advancement strategy in partnership with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Position Summary
The Development Director serves as the chief architect of HomeStretch’s fundraising strategy, responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive development plan that builds sustainable revenue from individual donors, corporate and small business partners, foundations, and community organizations.

This leadership role oversees a growing team, strengthens donor relations systems (with Bloomerang as the primary CRM), and positions the organization for a future capital campaign within five years.

The Development Director is directly accountable for meeting or exceeding HomeStretch’s annual fundraising goal of $1.5 million and plays a vital role in expanding the organization’s visibility and philanthropic partnerships across the metro Atlanta region.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a data-informed, multi-channel fundraising plan that supports annual revenue targets and long-term sustainability.
• Lead donor acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship strategies to expand both the donor base and average gift size across all giving categories.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director, Board members, and key volunteers to advance major gift and corporate partnership efforts.
• Build and lead a high-performing development team, including oversight, mentorship, and performance management of staff and contractors.
• Oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, grants, annual appeals, events, and planned giving.
• Serve as the primary administrator for Bloomerang—maintaining accurate donor records, meaningful segmentation, and insightful reporting.
• Partner across departments to ensure consistent, compelling donor communications and impact storytelling.
• Represent HomeStretch at community events and donor engagements, serving as a visible ambassador for the organization’s mission.
• Manage and monitor the development budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and responsible stewardship of resources.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in philanthropy, donor engagement, and nonprofit fundraising.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in designing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies across multiple giving channels.
• Demonstrated success in major gifts, corporate partnerships, and grant acquisition.
• Team leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, and grow development professionals.
• Proficiency with donor management systems (Bloomerang experience preferred).
• Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Experience with capital campaigns or readiness planning a plus.
• Strong commitment to equity, integrity, and HomeStretch’s mission and values.

Compensation & Benefits
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• Retirement plan with employer match
• Generous paid time off and holidays
• Professional development and continuing education support
• Flexible scheduling and hybrid work opportunities
