Description

This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the communications strategy of a growing
nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting opportunity youth, advancing criminal justice
reform, and promoting community well-being. As the Communications & Marketing Manager,
you will play a key leadership role in building the organization’s voice, increasing visibility, and
engaging diverse audiences across platforms.
This new position is ideal for a strategic and creative communicator with experience developing
compelling content and managing cross-channel communications. Reports to the Executive
Director and works collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment
with the organization’s mission and goals.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to elevate the
organization’s mission and programs.

2. Lead content creation and storytelling across digital platforms, newsletters, press
releases, annual reports, and donor communications.
3. Position will lead all communication and marketing deliverables for partnerships and
grant funding.

4. Manage the organization’s website, social media, and digital marketing tools to ensure
consistent branding and messaging.

5. Track and report on communications metrics and deliverables tied to grant and partner
obligations.

6. Collaborate with program, development, and executive staff to support strategic
initiatives and campaigns.

7. Coordinate media outreach, speaking opportunities, and public relations efforts.

8. Ensure clear, consistent, and culturally relevant communication to stakeholders,
community partners, and funders.

Requirements:
5 + years experience
Proven experience in nonprofit communications, journalism, PR, or related fields.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace for content development, reporting,
and team collaboration
Experience with digital content creator tools such as Canva and Adobe
Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
Knowledge of grant reporting
Flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
A commitment to equity, justice, and community-driven work.
Must be available to travel (3-4 x per year)
This position is home-based with in-person meetings in Los Angeles, at least 2x-3x per month.
Salary range $95k- $110k with benefits.
