Description
Webster Montessori School is seeking committed, mission-driven individuals to join its Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity for experienced leaders to make a lasting impact on a thriving independent Montessori community.
As a director, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, ensuring its financial sustainability, and strengthening relationships across our community of students, families, faculty, alumni, and supporters. You will partner with the Head of School and fellow board members to guide policy decisions, oversee budgets, and participate in the long-term planning that ensures every child at Webster Montessori thrives in a nurturing, curiosity-driven environment.
We are looking for individuals with senior leadership experience, financial acumen, and strong relationship management skills. Ideal candidates bring expertise in areas such as organizational strategy, fiscal oversight, nonprofit governance, or community engagement. Experience with independent school boards or educational nonprofits is highly valued, as is a commitment to supporting the school through advocacy, mentorship, and philanthropy.
Board service at Webster Montessori is a meaningful way to give back to the community while helping shape the future of Montessori education. Directors are expected to attend regular board and committee meetings, actively engage in school initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of the school’s mission. Terms are typically two years, with opportunities for renewal based on mutual agreement and ongoing contribution.

Webster Montessori School is an independent Montessori school serving children ages 18 months to Grade 6. We are a provisional member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools and a close-knit, diverse community of students, family and staff.
