TeamChild achieves impact through three main program strategies: civil legal services, community engagement, and policy advocacy. Our broad impact goals include (1) decriminalization, decarceration, and abolition, (2) expanding and investing in community-led and community-based alternatives and resources, (3) increasing equitable access to education, healthcare and housing supports, and (4) shifting power and repairing harm in BIPOC communities.
At the core of our work is our legal services program, which reaches youth 12-24 years old in four of Washington's largest counties as well as youth incarcerated in our state's juvenile prison and detention facilities. Our clients are youth and young adults entangled in our juvenile court and child welfare systems who deserve quality civil legal advocacy to achieve housing security, access education and employment, and get their basic health and other needs met.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting and Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join our team through June 2027 with the possibility of extension based on need and financial resources. This temporary, part-time role will support both the accounting and HR departments by handling various admin administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of accounting/finance, human resources, and general business operations, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
The role can be a fully-remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Support:
- Enter donor database transactions and ensure alignment with accounting records.
- Prepare monthly accounting report with payroll records.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to audit preparation.
Human Resources Support:
- Coordinate and implement the recruitment process, including posting job openings and scheduling interviews.
- Respond to applicants, new hires, and internal staff members administrative recruiting and onboarding questions.
- Assist with onboarding administrative tasks for new hires.
- Project manage, track, coordinate, and complete onboarding tasks prior to the new hires starting date.
- Maintain employee records and confidentiality.
General Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized filing systems for both accounting and HR documents.
- Assist with a variety of emergent administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or relevant experience.
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in accounting or HR roles.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office Suite (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively and respectively communicate with people of different race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, abilities, and socio-economic circumstance.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and capability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate directly to maintain timelines, ask questions.
- Sense of humor.
Requirements:
TeamChild has offices in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane and Yakima that are generally open on weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The physical demands and work environment described below represent those required and encountered by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range is $33.93 - $35.00 per hour. This position does not qualify for TeamChild's benefits except for compliance with Washington State Paid Sick Leave law.
