About Nomi Network: Nomi Network’s mission is to end human trafficking by creating pathways to safe employment, empowering women and girls to break cycles of slavery in their families and communities. 

Our Youth Workforce Development Program will serve youth who are either survivors of or highly vulnerable to commercial sexual exploitation by providing workforce training, work exposure, mentorship, and case management to help youth build a career plan and achieve their goals. 

Position Description: The Workforce Trainer will have the opportunity to join our dedicated, mission-motivated program team as a skilled and engaging facilitator who will be responsible for conducting Nomi Network’s workforce training.  This training addresses financial literacy, job readiness, navigating workplace challenges, confidence-building, and goal setting. The Workforce Trainer will also adapt the curriculum and take on new clients and training sessions due to program expansion.

    • Letot Residential Treatment Center (training location): 10505 Denton Dr, Dallas, TX 75220
  • Position status: Full-time, exempt 
  • Reports to:  Dallas Program Manager
  • Schedule:  This is a full-time position, with required classroom time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during typical work hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite training sessions each week with groups of 4-8 youth
  • Teach engaging lessons utilizing Nomi Network’s workforce curriculum 
  • Enable program expansion in the near future by adapting Nomi Network’s current workforce curriculum to enable expanded programming to a new client population and begin training that population
  • Work with the Nomi Network program team to assess the needs of clients as well as the effectiveness of the program and adapt or build upon the existing curriculum where needed
  • Work with the Letot Residential Treatment Center (LRTC) team to assess the needs of the clients and request technical or admin support for facilities and resources at LRTC
  • Actively manage the classroom as needed to facilitate learning and address disruptions
  • Implement basic assessments to monitor trainee progress through the curriculum
  • Support Nomi Network HQ team with fundraising needs such as donor visits and clients’ progress
  • Provide support and mentoring for clients while identifying sections where improvements are needed
  • Develop systems to monitor and ensure clients are performing their responsibilities according to the training
  • Create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment
  • Able to deliver and motivate program participants through effective training methodologies both in in-person and virtual learning environments
  • Proactively work with the Program Manager to identify and resolve issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional or lived experience
  • At least 3 years of teaching/training experience
  • Experience working with high-risk or disadvantaged populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in workforce development 
  • Experience working with youth or young adults

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires proof of a negative TB test to enter the training facility
  • The position functions in a normal office environment that requires the ability to successfully interface with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones 
  • Sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally climbing stairs are typical activities in this role
    • The ability to stand for long periods of time (up to three hours at a time) is required
  • Talking (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word) and hearing (perceiving the nature of sounds) are required
  • Clarity of vision (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print) is required 
  • The ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs is required
