Description

The Volunteers Connection Manager will oversee recruiting and onboarding of new volunteers for the Willow Creek Care Center to ensure a high quality, customer-focused experience that is efficient and user-friendly. Serving as the initial contact of our ministry, the Volunteer Connection Manager will help new volunteers find their sweet spot in serving in a roll that best utilizes their gifts and passions. The Volunteer Connection Manager will be an advocate for the mission of the Care Center by actively partnering with staff and volunteers to carry out this mission with a spirit of joy and collaboration. This position is part time at 30 hours per week, and offers medical benefits along with a competitive pay rate.

 Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the volunteer connection process to ensure an efficient and quality experience for onboarding new volunteers through all entrance points including individual connections and hosting new volunteer orientations
  • Manage the volunteer check in system and partner with Program Managers to ensure Rock (church management system) rosters are current and all CC volunteers are protection compliant
  • Develop and manage a team of volunteer champions on each Care Center team to welcome, connect and help retain volunteers
  • Collaborate on department-wide initiatives to honor, train, and retain volunteers
  • Actively engage in the staff coverage rotation throughout the month including day, evening, and weekend shifts
  • Serve as the department’s Protection Process Partner and Serving and Connection team representative
  • Manage and coordinate Group Serves and the School/Community Service hour programs

Requirements

  • Willingness to become part of our church family and a regular attender of a Willow Creek Community Church location in the Chicagoland area
  • Prior experience recruiting and leading volunteers
  • Prefer prior experience serving in the Willow Creek Care Center or other volunteer driven organization
  • Strong listening and understanding skills with an emphasis on customer focus
  • Good at sizing up people
  • Approachable with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent process and time management skills
  • Action oriented with a priority focus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Spiritual gifts of administration, discernment, shepherding, hospitality and service
