Volunteer and Community Partnership Coordinator, (VCPC)

Position Description: The Volunteer and Community Partnership Coordinator (VCPC) is an administrative position responsible for marketing, resource and volunteer development. Their role is to integrate themselves into the immediate community and build mutually beneficial relationships with parents, communities of faith, businesses, advocates, and key stakeholders, i.e., schools, service providers, local and county government, and other agencies. The VCPC will work with the community to highlight strengths and identify challenges where resources need to be enhanced to better support and serve our children, youth, and families.  The candidate must use an empowering approach with the families served. A valid New Jersey driver’s license and safe driving record are required.  This position is 40 hours a week. Medical benefits are available.

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Additional education and previous experience in marketing, recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers for community-based organizations, charities, etc. is also preferred.

Salary Range: $35,000 – $40,000 based on experience

Reports to: FSC Co-Directors or Co-CEO in their absence

Attributes to fulfill position:

  • Identifies the strengths, challenges, and service gaps in the community in collaboration with the Co-Directors, community partners, and parent leaders to fill those gaps;
  • Monitors social media presence and website to promote programs and relevant events to the Greater Asbury Park community;
  • Plans and coordinates strategies to involve parents, educators, retired professionals, and community leaders as volunteers at the FSC;
  • Recruits, trains, manages, and supervises the volunteers and their schedules to ensure consistent coverage. Must have volunteers for all programs with significant number of attendees;
  • Ensures the calendar is completed and programs are developed and implemented for interns, collaborators, and community partners;
  • Assists with developing and maintaining Family Advisory Board (FAB);
  • Develops and completes monthly calendar of events that are aligned with the Family Advisory Board suggestions;
  • Reviews and implements new methods for attracting, training, and retaining volunteer staff and holds regular volunteer trainings, acknowledgements, and recruitment events;
  • Incorporates and implements the Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors into all aspects of their work;
  • Develops and implements an annual fund development plan to secure funds, goods, and services for the FSC;
  • In collaboration with the FSC Co-Directors, develops and executes an annual fundraising plan to meet the annual operating capital needs of the FSC;
  • Ensures that the center is maintained in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Recruits volunteers to assist;
  • Attends training(s) as required/needed;
  • Provides the FSC Site Coordinators with all information to be documented in the database and tracked;
  • Works with the FSC Site Coordinators to ensure that all Contracted Services are implemented and FCP goals are being forwarded by scheduled events and activities;
  • Provides database support and data entry as needed;
  • Adheres to the Personnel Manual and Office Protocols;
  • Other duties as assigned by the FSC Co-Directors.
