Vice President of Strategic Partnership and Development

HBI, a national leader for career training in the building industry is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Development, who will be responsible for creating organizational relationships and executing the organization’s strategy to develop key partnerships that contribute to new business development. The incumbent will oversee the strategic direction for the entire lifecycle of business development, from initial ideas through successful funding execution. Responsibilities will also include documenting and executing existing partnership planning and strategy, partnership progress among many various facets of the business, and forecasting of financial impact due to these partnerships and alliances. The Vice President will provide key information and analysis on business development to help guide organizational decision-making working closely with the CEO to grow unrestricted and programmatic revenue. The role is tasked with driving our partnerships to the most optimal level, per the business strategy. This is a time urgent role requiring a high-energy executive.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop, implement, and cultivate relationships and strategic alliances to secure financial support to reach the organizational objectives and key revenue targets.
  • Lead prospecting, solicitation, partnership development and stewardship for key accounts including retention activities.
  • Create an outreach strategy aligned to the organizational strategy with defined annual operating plans with a focus on engaging a variety of market sectors.
  • Ensure organization creates and implements a plan to cultivate, steward, and solicit current and prospective partners.
  • Build a pipeline of prospects and create a diverse and active portfolio of accounts to reach annual revenue objectives.
  • Optimize strategic partnerships process and account management cadence utilizing Salesforce and internal project management resources. Create and implement process improvement and best in class practices to achieve increased efficiency in internal processes.
  • Lead solution development, partner impact reporting, and manage to key performance indicators for portfolio.
  • Work with the SVP to develop goals and objectives for HBI’s partnership activities and develops and directs the implementation of long and short-range plans to meet those goals and objectives.
  • Partner and collaborate with departments throughout the organization on processes, products and services, when appropriate.
  • Analyze business metrics collected at the financial and project levels to verify objectives are progressing as planned and to direct additional actions to be taken when problems or risks are identified.
  • Ability to oversee numerous projects and initiatives, delegate the details.
  • Ability to successfully navigate in a dynamic, fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.
  • Solid ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and develop realistic action plans
  • Monitors fiscal activities and controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Create dynamic, strategic, and engaging presentations; deliver and execute proposals and agreements.
  • Shares information, resources and provides training as required with all HBI departments to enhance growth and overall organization performance.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:  HBI staff at all levels, HBI Board of Trustees

External:  Wide variety of industry, government, NAHB members, funding agencies, education institutions, corporate and philanthropic partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Minimum BA/BS degree in Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.

Requirements includes: 

  • 10+ years extensive experience in business development and working with various types of contracts.
  • Customer Relationship Management software preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to persuade and influence others around ideas, decisions, and financial support in individual and group settings; confidence to assert, present perspective, engage others and influence outcomes.
  • Highly effective relationship building skills including one-to-one interpersonal networking; ability to leverage and communicate effectively with diverse audiences: executive leaders, board members, donors, constituents, and staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with genuine desire to connect with others from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Usual office-type working conditions.  Routine physical conditions include walking, carrying, standing, hearing/listening and sitting.
