Position Purpose:

The Vice President of Business Development provides leadership and strategy for the recruitment of all Teton Science Schools’ $12,000,000 of earned income. The individual leads a team creating a smooth pipeline from brand awareness to marketing and communications to outbound/inbound sales to registration for a nationally-recognized organization serving 15,000 students annually. The individual blends marketing and communication skills with particular expertise in sales, recruitment, and partnership development. As the organization’s senior sales leader, the Vice President is accountable for overall enrollment performance. This position is successful when TSS visibility increases, capacity utilization improves, annual student days grow, and existing stakeholders are inspired and informed.

Qualifications/Skills:

•Demonstrated success growing enrollments in a diversified mission-driven organization

•Sound experience in marketing and communications through a variety of platforms on a range of products

•Demonstrated leadership of teams with dispersed supervision towards common goals

•Google Apps and Salesforce proficiency and Microsoft familiarity

•Ability to work both independently and cooperatively on multiple teams

•Ability to lead an exceptional customer experience and solve customer service challenges

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

•Primarily based at Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with potential meetings/interactions/work on all campuses locations

•Able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 8 hours

•Able to write / type / communicate•Intermittent travel as appropriate

 

Responsibilities:

50% Sales Leadership

•Accountable for the holistic TSS sales and recruitment strategy aligning TSS mission objectives with firm business strategy

•Responsible for designing and managing a sales system tracking key accountabilities for sales/recruitment across the organization

•Accountable for effective sales coordination across TSS, including sales job roles and resource deployment

•Lead, coach, train, and provide resources to dispersed sales roles supervised by leaders across TSS including Director of Mountain Academy Enrollment Management, Director of Field Education (youth groups), etc.

•Responsible for creating, managing, and maturing a systematic tracking process for sales management and accountability in Salesforce

•Informs tuition-based revenue targets across the org with input from specific program area leadership

•Meets targets improving capacity utilization, increasing student days, increasing retention of partners/families/students, hitting or exceeding TSS earned income targets, among other metrics

•Lead learning initiatives impacting sales and recruitment across TSS

•Holds a small portfolio on key partner relationships/accounts

 

30% Marketing/Communications/Registration Leadership

•Accountable for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and registration strategy to support the mission of Teton Science Schools

•Improves TSS brand equity and visibility through attracting, inspiring, and informing all TSS stakeholders (and future stakeholders) through marketing and communications of both specific programs and philanthropy

•Oversee the creation, maintenance, and improvement of metrics dashboards and analysis for marketing, communications, and registration improving enrollment and philanthropic results

•Accountable for oversight of a network of professional support (consultants, contractors, vendors) for design, photo/video, web development, and SEO

•Accountable to all TSS website content management, social media content, video content and general online presence to align with organizational brand

•Accountable in all crisis communications including systems and messaging delivered in consult with Teton Science Schools' Executive Team

•Support admissions teams, the Development department and program leaders creating engaging content furthering brand, enrollment, and philanthropic goals

•Support the Development Department with marketing and communications in developing case statements and collateral

•Accountable to all registration systems and processes used to enroll students in all programs.

 

20%One TSS Responsibilities - TSS Executive Team

•Earned income oversight of $12,000,000 and expense budget oversight of $501k - $999k

•Work in budget creation, oversight, and management with finance and central administration

•Directly supervise a centralized team of marketing/communications, registration, and sales while leading a dispersed team of sales/partnership development professionals specific to their program area

•Contributes to TSS organizational policy, strategy, and vision representing brand, marketing, communications, sales, and registration

•Represent Teton Science Schools to appropriate community, regional, and national events and groups

•Proactively and positively shares the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders

•Periodically carry the executive-on-call phone•Supports the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within TSS
