Position:  Senior Major Gifts Officer

Location:  Portland Opera’s Hampton Opera Center, just south of OMSI in Portland Oregon

*In-office position

You will have the opportunity to introduce ideas, gain knowledge, share expertise, while working in an exciting and fun environment at the Portland Opera!

 

The role reports to the Director of Development who provides an engaging work environment where your ideas and questions are always welcome and encouraged!

 

ARE YOU PASSIONATE AND INTRIGUED BY? 

  • Assisting in developing & implementing fundraising plans
  • Managing & cultivating relationships with existing major gifts donors
  • Identifying and soliciting new major gifts prospects for philanthropic support to Portland Opera
  • Forecasting, executing, and reporting annual revenue goals
  • Leading a team and working with others in the organization toward a shared vision and goals

 

 EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, with minimum of five years of experience in fundraising
  • Demonstrated record of success at closing six-figure gifts
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of people on both a professional and personal level
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under limited supervision while being an integral part of the development team

  • Compensation Structure: This position offers an exempt salary in the range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year, dependent on experience, with the below benefits:
