Description
Hope4Families is a non-profit, special education law firm located in Los Angeles, CA. We represent students with special needs and their families in due process actions against school districts when they have been denied their right to a free appropriate public education (FAPE). We have a broad spectrum of clients from a variety of different backgrounds, but our passion is serving disadvantaged communities.
H4F is looking for attorneys that are dedicated and highly motived. While no experience is needed, we are looking for a candidate that demonstrates an interest in serving urban communities. Representation extends from initial intake through the settlement of the complaint. It is also important that our attorneys educate parents for effective advocacy on behalf of their children.
H4F has developed a comprehensive system for attorneys to work remotely. This system has been in place for 10 years and allows our attorneys the opportunity to work from their home offices while still maintaining connection with collogues at out boutique law firm.
Responsibilities:
Communicating with clients to learn about their needs, concerns, and desired outcomes
Developing arguments that clearly displays your client’s denial to a FAPE.
Preparing legal documents such as Due Process Complaints
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
Admission to the California State Bar
Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Ability to research, negotiate, and communicate verbally and in writing
