Description

International animal welfare non-profit organization, Global Strays @Globalstrays is looking for a Social Media Specialist/Content Creator to assist our team as we begin an exciting new phase in our journey! This individual will report to the Communications Director. The candidate should be highly organized, enthusiastic, and able to balance multiple projects at once. This will be a virtual, remote position.

This is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of renewal, with a compensation amount of $15/hr for up to 10 hours a week Monday through Friday. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
  • Define most important social media KPIs
  • Manage, oversee and create social media content that captivates our audience ahead of the week
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Ability to create content calendar to plan posts ahead of time (knowledge of tools such as Buffer or HootSuite is preferred)
  • Work with Communications Team and graphic designer to ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Monitor user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Communicate with industry professionals, companies, and influencers via social media to create a strong network

Experience

  • 4 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn (And preferably Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and YouTube)
  • Experience with audience- and buyer-persona research
  • Good understanding of social media KPIs
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • SEO and web traffic metrics knowledge preferred
