Description

This position is responsible for directing and leading all Foundation efforts including, but not limited to, strengthening the comprehensive fundraising program in support of the Benedictine’s mission and goals and responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding key prospects in concert with strategic priorities and needs while advancing a culture of philanthropy, with a focus on major gifts.  This position will also serve as President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Benedictine Foundation (Foundation).

Serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Benedictine Foundation and is responsible for directing and leading all Foundation efforts.  Directly engages in the development and implementation of fund development; establish and maintain extensive files of current and potential donors; represent Benedictine and the Foundation and provide visibility to the community, financial and legal professional and other social organizations to develop and maintain public support.  Develops a high level of public awareness about Benedictine’s programs and gain financial support through philanthropic donations.  Ensures proper management of Foundation/Associated Foundations by providing oversight of financial and non-profit agency compliance reporting.  Supports Benedictine and Associate Foundations fund development and grant plans by the development and deployment of Foundation staff.  Ensures good stewardship of Foundation resources (staff and budget) by managing staff activity and the efficient use of Foundation funds, gifts and grants.  Supports Benedictine strategic initiatives, mission growth, and innovative practices by initiating/organizing system-wide fund development/grant efforts.  Provides leadership and guidance to Benedictine communities, Foundation and Associated Foundations in establishing a comprehensive community relations program to build community awareness and support the organizations’ mission.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, health care administration, fund development, finance or related field
  • Five (5) years of senior executive experience in a multi-facility system where strategic thinking and organizing occurred in a team environment
  • Ten (10) years of experience in fund development, foundation management and grant administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in health care operations, organizational governance, volunteer support and large organizations (systems)

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Master’s Degree in healthcare or business management
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
