Goodwill Northern New England, a nonprofit social enterprise established in 1933, is seeking a senior vice president of advancement (SVP) with an entrepreneurial spirit and distinctive record of achievement.

For decades, Goodwill Northern New England has delivered workforce development and community inclusion services to people who struggle to find personal stability. Goodwill NNE provides direct employment opportunities through its retail and cleaning businesses in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, as well as neuro rehabilitation services, residential programs, and day programming for adults with disabilities or deafness in Maine. Our core beliefs guide our relationships with program participants, customers, employees – and the earth. We believe in generosity, opportunity, community, sustainability, and transparency. Headquartered in Gorham, Maine, Goodwill NNE has a three state service area comprised of Maine, New Hampshire, and nine counties in Vermont.

An autonomous 501(c)(3) organization, governed by a volunteer local board of directors with members from throughout our three state region. Goodwill NNE is a member of Goodwill Industries International, which is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. There are 165 autonomous Goodwill organizations in North America, and 13 affiliates oversees.

Reporting to the President/CEO, the SVP of Advancement is responsible for evaluating, planning, and executing fund raising initiatives and strategies to meet or exceed budgeted revenue goals. The SVP of Advancement develops, guides, and executes strategies to advance the Agency’s implementation of our mission. Focusing on both internal and external audiences, the SVP of Advancement drives consistent and clear brand messaging so that the understood image of Goodwill NNE accurately and positively reflects that organization’s broad community engagement and philanthropic support.

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including management and oversight of a comprehensive development, communication and marketing program, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for the mission and goals of Goodwill Northern New England. A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
