Position Responsibilities:

 

National Corporate Program

  • Taking the lead on multiple National Corporate partner relationships to build and grow the corporate Development budget line.
  • Working with the Director on sponsor prospecting and developing relationships with new sponsors.
  • Communicating directly with key corporate contacts to optimize and enhance existing partnerships.
  • Leading relationships with internal parties such as the events and publications teams to ensure the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
  • Helping evolve and grow the HRC sponsorship program through innovative ideas and input
  • Supporting cause marketing and commercial co-venture efforts
  • Generating partnership reports and requested documentation to support national partners
  • Developing and executing partner and sponsor appreciation and stewardship events/activities
  • Maintaining an accurate and up to date database of key contacts at national and local corporate sponsors.
  • Participating in regular discussions with the HRC Foundation’s Workplace team to make sure HRC’s corporate outreach is consistent and professional as possible.
  • Staying aware of the corporate development budget to ensure that the corporate relations team meets or exceeds established development goals.

 

National and Local Dinners

  • In collaboration with Director and other team members, driving sponsorship efforts for the HRC National Dinner by working directly with existing sponsors to renew annual sponsorships
  • Growing National Dinner sponsorship revenue by developing new partnerships with prospective National Dinner sponsors.
  • Working closely with events team to evaluate and execute National Dinner sponsorship benefits.
  • Participating in dinner Co-chair training and HRC board meetings as necessary
  • Working with volunteer committees at local dinners throughout the country as needed to help them reach their corporate fundraising goals.

 

Income Processing

  • Invoicing corporations and organizations for sponsorship.
  • Processing income from National Corporate Sponsors and National Dinner Sponsors, tracking cash and in-kind contributions.
  • Generating timely acknowledgements for all corporate contributions.
  • Working with the Finance Department to maintain accuracy of financial information provided throughout the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, as well as experience in a corporate setting, is a plus.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills and the ability to be nimble and responsive to National Partner requests.
  • Must work collaboratively with colleagues, a strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to multi-task and navigate competing priorities.
  • Must strike a balance between understanding the needs of our corporate partners and balancing them with the direction, goals, and objectives of HRC.
  • Flexibility with work schedule; Must be willing to travel approximately 20% of work time, sometimes in evenings and often on weekends.
  • A strong interest in the intersection between the private sector and LGBTQ inclusion is essential.
  • At least four to six years’ experience in fundraising, client service, and/or sales positions.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to handle tasks in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with multiple departments within an organization is required, and familiarity dealing with external corporate constituents, such as clients or sponsors, highly desired.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional writing skills and strong verbal communications abilities, with particular emphasis on customer service.
  • Must be equally comfortable in both non-profit and Fortune 500 environments and be able to deliver engaging, compelling presentations and public speeches to HRC constituencies.
  • Team player and a positive attitude are necessary, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and focus on details and follow-up.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word) and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs and Drive).
  • Personal interest in and commitment to LGBTQ equality.
