Position Description:

The Center for Policing Equity is seeking a motivated SENIOR MANAGER, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS, overseeing and further developing the organization's corporate giving program, with a primary focus on cultivating fruitful, long-term relationships, coordinating activities, developing strategies, and raising funds from corporations.

This individual will serve as part of a growing team committed to building philanthropic support for the nation's premier organization focused on the transformative impact of data-driven interventions in public safety. Working in partnership with and reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, the successful candidate will work closely with program staff, a grant writer, and a grants coordinator and will focus on communicating (in both verbal and written formats) complex programmatic work to funders.

Prior experience in nonprofit development, and a track record of personally closing corporate gifts of $50,000-$1M+, employee giving, and cause marketing, is required. If you have these skills and a demonstrated interest and commitment to racial justice, we encourage you to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of active and prospective corporate partners by establishing relationships, soliciting and stewarding gifts, and deepening ties.
  • Works together with Assistant Director of Development to develop an annual corporate relations plan that includes measurable goals, metrics and specific strategies for expanding both levels and sources of support.
  • Create, plan and coordinate events with support from the development team.
  • Expand the universe of corporations that fund CPE by identifying prospective funders and cultivating relationships via outreach and events.
  • Conduct phone/video conversations and in-person visits (when public health protocols allow) with corporate partners and create written communications, including proposals of support, reporting, and updates.
  • Achieve monthly cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship targets and keep accurate engagement records.
  • Understands cause marketing models and maximizes collaborations at the local, regional and national levels.
  • Develop and deliver creative and powerful presentations and proposals for corporate partnership/sponsorship opportunities; ensure organizational leadership involved in pitches are briefed and prepared for all meetings.
  • Manage CPE's Justice Talks series of 'information and outreach' Q&A sessions for corporate employees where CPE leaders share updates about current programs,their impact, and ways to get involved.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager Foundation Relations, Grants Coordinator, the Sr. Grant Writer to manage the corporate grants calendar, including proposal and status report deadlines.
  • Participate in and work on programs and events as a member of the development team.
  • Leads sponsorship strategies for campaigns and fundraising events.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7+ years of professional fundraising experience
  • A background in fundraising for a think tank or data-focused advocacy mission is a plus.
  • Experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with donors, volunteers, and program and administrative staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be able to convey CPE's mission and vision convincingly.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to offer creative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort with managing up and communicating ideas and recommendations clearly and convincingly.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of and experience with databases (Salsa and/or Salesforce CRM software a plus).
