Starting Salary Range:  $60,000 to $65,000

Job Summary

Chrysalis seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for collaborating with the Controller and Accounting Manager on the monthly financial close process and handling general ledger maintenance of balance sheet accounts including the reconciliation of revenue accounts. The Senior Accountant will serve as a key financial liaison for various projects and grants management and participate in the department’s annual audit preparation process. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and participate in departmental activities as necessary.

The Senior Accountant will work with the Finance Team as well as HR and Program management staff to ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and transparent. The Senior Accountant will ensure that the Policies and Procedures of Chrysalis are followed.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Month-End Closing Process: Complete recurring journal entries, grant and overhead allocations, account schedules and revenue recognition and reconciliations.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: processing financial transactions, journal entries, cash receipts, account reconciliations,
  • General ad-hoc budget reporting from accounting software system when requested by program managers.
  • Assist in the annual financial audit preparation.
  • Completes special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department as directed by the Controller or Accounting Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is ideal.
  • At three years of accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • General understanding of GAAP, non-profit accounting and government grant management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks Enterprise and Sage Intacct accounting software highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite with an Intermediate to advanced understanding of Excel
  • Ability to compile and review financial data and provide analysis and recommendations of trends, budget variations, and other related financial issues.
