Description

 

Womanspace is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Safe Housing Advocate as an integral partner in the county’s Continuum of Care System.  This position will be primarily responsible for working with survivors and families residing in the safe house to ensure they are receiving all the support necessary to move them forward to independent housing. This position provides advocacy, case management, safety planning, information, and referral to clients receiving housing assistance. The Safe Housing Advocate will be tasked with networking with local resources and building connections in the community to assist survivors.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing trauma-informed services to survivors of domestic violence and will be knowledgeable about local resources.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, training, work history, and life experience considered
  • 2-5 years of experience in the human service field
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Spanish speaking a plus
