Position: Program Manager

Reports to: Executive Director 

Position type: Full Time, Exempt 

Salary: $75,000 Annually

THE OPPORTUNITY 

The Renton Innovation Zone Partnership (RIZP) is hiring for a Program Manager with a successful track record of program design and implementation, turning theory into practice. This position will join a growing team and will work to build sustainability for families and communities in the Sunset Highlands and Skyway-West Hill neighborhoods. Through this work, the position will partner with community based organizations, government entities, families, Renton School District and other stakeholders to bring strategies to life. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys grassroot community building and building up underserved communities. 

WHO WE ARE 

The Renton Innovation Zone Partnership (RIZP) is a place-based collaborative including the Renton School District (RSD), Community Based Organizations and other partners from the Skyway-West Hill and Sunset/Renton Highlands neighborhoods. The focus of this initiative is to improve educational equity and student performance in six target schools: Lakeridge, Bryn-Mawr, Campbell Hill and Highlands Elementary schools as well as Dimmitt and McKnight Middle Schools.  

The Renton Innovation Zone Partnership was formed in 2017 and as of September 2019, the RIZP has joined RVC Seattle as an Operations Support Partner. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Data & Evaluation

  • Apply Human Centered Design framework to action team strategies and measures for continuous improvement
  • Ensures fidelity of student and program data by supporting data collection practices
  • Define measures of success and share out progress data with action team’s for continuous improvement and strategic decision making
  • Reviews ongoing performance results to targets. 

Community Outreach

  • Represent RIZP at external meetings related to the successful implementation of action team strategies
  • Successfully integrate action team strategies across entire Renton Innovation Zone Partnership 
  • Serve as main point of contact to prospective partners and community members
  • Coordinate with action team partners to include student and family voice to inform strategies

Action Team Coordination

  • Manage collaborative efforts with RIZ Partners to promote healthy learning opportunities for students and families.
  • Manage the day to day action team programming including but not limited to: facilitating action team meetings, pilot initiatives, training, time and attendance, performance management process, and event planning. 
  • Develop and manage logic models for work plans
  • In conjunction with Action Team co-chairs and RIZP leadership, participate in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Manage budgets of each Action Team according to work plan activities
  • Lead periodic reviews of Action Team work plans
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Action Team co-chairs, members and manage sharing of meeting minutes and other pertinent information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated personal commitment to anti-racism work, and a detailed understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by communities related to, race, ethnicity, class, ability, immigration status, gender, and their intersections. 
  • An understanding of how communications (written, visual, or otherwise) can perpetuate harmful narratives about people of color, and how to undo them. 
  • Strong ability to develop relationships with community stakeholders.  
  • Experience working with marginalized communities to build capacity.  
  • Experience engaging with community members from diverse backgrounds.  
  • Experience sharing content to advocate on a specific issue or challenge. 
  • Excellent project management and time management skills. 
  • Proven ability to develop and present clear and persuasive presentations to diverse groups of stakeholders.  
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed to participate in RIZP or other events 
  • Strong self-starter skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively on a small team.

A WELL-QUALIFIED CANDIDATE MAY HAVE THE FOLLOWING: 

  • Familiarity with the Renton Highlands or Skyway-West Hill community, 
  • Experienced investment in creating strong partnerships with a community similar to the RIZ geography
  • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment where there is a sense of shared leadership and responsibility. Innovative thinker who is focused on creating actionable solutions. 
  • Asset-based approach to working with marginalized communities. 
  • Ability to balance priorities from multiple stakeholders.  
  • Experience with public speaking.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, collaborative work environments and can nimbly respond to shifting priorities and can multitask and meet deadlines.
