Program Aide – P/T – Live in

The ideal person for this position will have a high school diploma and demonstrate an educational and practical experience background in working with returning citizens that have been recently incarcerated.  In addition, this staff person must be able to assist in meeting the needs of individuals with a history of alcohol and drug addiction.  Knowledge of the criminal justice system would be helpful.  Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.  Training and supervision will be provided by the Program Administrator and House Manager.

The program aide is in a supportive role and is responsible to set a prime example and to always be a positive role model with the program residents. This person must be capable of providing supervision and monitoring of all activities and behaviors. In addition, the program aid will assist the residents with the integration of discipline and structure during their transition.

The person in this position must be able to build trust and a healthy rapport with program residents. Part of the position is assisting residents to acquire or to continue to utilize non-chemical methods and skills to deal and cope with life situations daily.  Must be able to effectively engage residents to heighten the program aides’ awareness of their activities and well-being.

Typical work activities would include but are not limited to:

  • Enter appropriate recordings of daily program activities and situations.
  • Ancillary duties, which include chores, cooking, shopping, simple maintenance, running errands, and answering the phone.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This rewarding position pays $16.00 an hour and comes with the benefit of room and board! This job is perfect for someone who is seeking added income p/t with evening and weekend hours!
  • This part time position comes with a pension plan after two years (as long as the hours worked add up to 1,000 hours worked annually. Individuals can also contribute to Mutual of America’s (pension plan) at any time.
  • Vacation times is prorated at a part-time rate as well as personal days and sick time.
