Strong candidates for this position possess an understanding of how dominant gender stereotypes limit equality and are conversant with gender fluidity and the multitude of gender expressions. They understand how power and control are expressed in society.  They also have a commitment to working within communities and across systems.

This person will be a strong community partner with our area public and private schools, providing age-appropriate prevention education programming for all grade levels through 12th grade, and will take a leading role in engaging men and boys in our mission to end intimate partner violence.

Supervised by the Director of Community Engagement, the Prevention Educator works collaboratively and creatively with staff in developing curricula and identifying outcome goals, as well as assessing effectiveness. This person will also take the lead in the agency’s volunteer program.

Experience supporting LGBTQIA communities enhances the work of this position. Demonstrated competency in education and community networking is highly desirable as is bilingual competence in English/Spanish.

This full-time position offers an hourly pay rate of $28 per hour for 37.5 hours per week.  Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, paid time off, sick leave, and holidays, and a matching 403B retirement program.
