Description

Shelter Care for Kids is an emergency shelter serving boys and girls ages 3-11 who are need of care in time of crisis. Most of our children are from Hennepin County and involved in the Child Protection. We practice a trauma informed environment. Overnight Staff to work in a 10 bed facility with children. Responsibilities are to prepare food for the next day and to clean the facility. There are two staff during the overnight hours from 10pm-8am.Full time residential day hours are available working directly with the clients. Responsibilities are supervision, documentation, programming for daily schedule and activities. A deep sense of purpose and exposure to wildly fresh perspectives, opportunities to earn higher pay in the future as a career, more play, more laughter, and more smiley. Experience of diversity and inclusion as a working team.

Experience working with children in a traumatic setting is helpful, and the ability to use professional judgement according to the Minnesota Department of Human Services. A BS or BA in the related sciences is preferred, or a minimum of two years of college experience. All applicants must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license. Benefits included are vacation, sick and safe leave, and health and dental insurance. Compensation hourly is $14.50-$16.00.
