Summary/Objective

The Marketing and Communications Associate role is responsible for contributing to Taproot’s mission through a broad range of marketing and communications efforts. This position plays a key role in the implementation of initiatives for Taproot’s brand among its nonprofit, volunteer, corporate and philanthropic audiences. Focus areas include social media, email marketing, marketing, website admin, research, and webinar management. The Associate is critical to keeping the team organized and efficient with plenty of room for ideas and suggestions and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibilities and duties of the Marketing and Communications Associate consist of (but are not limited to):

•         Email marketing: Manage email marketing calendar, plans and implementation of email programs on multiple platforms including Mailchimp and Constant Contact. Develop processes to ensure email accuracy, accessibility, and deliverability. Manage email metrics as part of marketing dashboard.

•         Website Admin: Assist with updating the website, including blogs, resources, events. Aid in content audit and SEO implementation

•         Support: Provide general support for the MarCom team, including communicating with inbound contacts, social media, data collection and analysis, and more. Project Manage key initiatives and create efficiencies across the Marketing team. Liaison across the Taproot organization.

•         Webinar Support: assist in managing our webinar calendar, marketing and promotion of webinars and real-time support using our webinar platforms. Ensure webinars create a memorable experience for participants and ensure an organized and efficient approach internally to webinar implementation.

•         Social Media: In collaboration with the Marketing team, manage social media calendar and implementation of social posts across all channels. Track metrics of campaigns and make recommendations on future social plans based on real-time metrics.

•         Be an active and engaged member of the Marketing team, proactively participating in marketing planning and development of new ideas and approaches.

•         Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

·        Minimum of two-three years of experience in marketing and/or communications.

·        Exceptional writing, editing, and communications skills that can easily flex to meet the needs of Taproot’s various stakeholders.

·        Proficient user of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.  Expert proficiency with using Excel for analyzing data preferred.

·        Preferred experience with Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office 365 and Asana

·        Experience managing various social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more, and analyzing metrics.

·        Experience designing clean, modern emails in MailChimp (or a similar email service provider) and analyzing metrics

·        Experience with promoting and managing online events/webinars a plus.

·        Must be tech-savvy and be able to adapt to and adopt new tools and software platforms quickly, effectively, and efficiently.

Base salary starting at $50,000 annually; open to negotiation and adjustment subject to geographic region
