Description

Are you interested in helping to lead a values-driven nonprofit into the next stage of our growth? Altitude Youth Ultimate is looking for a Manager of Operations! We are a community-serving organization that is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Despite the pandemic, we have had an amazing few years of growing and bringing the joys of Ultimate to youth and adults across Colorado. Now, we’re looking for someone to help keep our programs running smoothly and to create new and exciting opportunities.

Our new Manager of Operations will help implement, manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the organization, including:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take direction from the Board on existing operations and also develop in collaboration with the board new revenue generating and / or community-impacting initiatives
  • Coordinate, promote, and execute programs from start to finish in AYU’s primary revenue generating areas:  tournaments, camps, leagues, clinics, youth club teams
  • Build working relationships and optimize results with key external partners, e.g., USAU, event volunteers, program volunteers, athletic trainers, equipment and supplies vendors, other USAU affiliates and state based organizations
  • Build effective working relationships and optimize results with key internal resources, e.g., full-time salaried staff and part-time stipended resources
  • Provide tactical support for AYU’s non-revenue, community-impacting programs: including (but not limited to) diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and outreach and community development
  • Coordinate and execute overhead operations supporting multiple areas:  event promotion, newsletter, website, social media
  • Communicate and collaborate with the board via multiple modes: attend monthly board meetings, attend annual planning retreat, provide monthly reporting summarizing activity and impacts
  • Act as the customer service representative of AYU, responding in a timely manner to inbound requests from various constituents and partners
  • Adhere to existing financial and management reporting processes and improve on back office organizational effectiveness, eg process improvements and better use of software productivity tools

REQUIREMENTS

  • Enthusiasm for the sport of ultimate highly desirable
  • Ability to effectively work independently
  • Ability to accommodate event-driven nights and weekend work hours, as required
  • Ability to enthusiastically represent the AYU organization to all constituents and customers
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Recognize the need for, and ability to shift communication styles depending on the target population (Spanish language is desirable)
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills
  • Proven people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with regular use of email and phone
  • Experience budgeting and managing revenue streams and program expenses
  • Prior expertise in online marketing highly desirable
  • Completion of university degree or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to complete third-party background check

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    • $28-35K salary, commensurate with experience
    • 5% annual bonus opportunity
    • Other benefits negotiable
    • Flexible work schedule and work location
