Description

The Manager of Institutional Giving guides and supports fundraising for Covia, a leading nonprofit provider of communities and services that promote positive aging. The Manager of Institutional Giving develops and manages a portfolio of corporate, foundation and government grants to support Covia Community Services programs. Works closely with program directors to identify and cultivate prime funding prospects and to produce successful letters of inquiry, proposals and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual institutional grants funding plan that support the Community Services annual funding budget
  • Cultivate, manage and steward relationships with corporate, foundation and government funders
  • Develop, write, and project manage letters of inquiry, grant proposals, grant reports, briefings and associated documents
  • Play a leadership role in cross-program training and proposal development
  • Collaborate with program team to meet shared grants goals
  • Manage the proposal pipeline and funder reporting calendar
  • Manage grant contract compliance, recording and reporting of grant activities, and grants correspondence
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Covia Community Services’ programs in order to authentically represent the programs to potential funders
  • Support the Foundation team in communications, events, and individual donor cultivation

  • Passion for mission and impact
  • Program planning and outcomes, organizational budgeting, and creation of grant proposals and reports
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead work across departments
  • High degree of independence, initiative, responsibility and capability in managing projects
  • Excellent analytical thinking and computer literacy skills

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
  • Four to six years of related experience with demonstrated success in cultivating, closing and reporting on gifts from foundations, corporations and government funders
  • Experience in marketing and communications a plus
  • Background in human services nonprofits a plus
