Position Summary

The Learning & Evaluation Analyst supports the data management, reporting, and analytical work under the MILE (Measurement, Innovation, Learning, and Evaluation) program at Tides. The Analyst will report to the Learning & Evaluation Manager and together, will build and evolve the MILE program. The Analyst will be responsible for developing and monitoring operational metrics, analytical reporting, in-house surveying capabilities, and evaluative tools for Tides management and staff. Along with the Manager, this role will support the growing needs of Tides for internal expertise and capacity for data management and analysis of our clients, processes, business development, and operations. The Analyst will be responsible for partnering across all levels and departments across Tides to support analytical, evaluation, and impact initiatives and helping develop infrastructure to support in-house learning and evaluation capabilities. The Analyst will also advocate for and foster a supportive, data driven learning culture at Tides.

Essential Functions

Data Management & Analysis // 50%

  • Provide critical support in ensuring data integrity, defining internal metrics, and sustaining data tracking and monitoring processes
  • Manage and monitor operational, financial, and other client data across various systems (Salesforce, Netsuite, etc.)
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership and the operations team by collecting internal process, operational, and client service delivery metrics
  • Communicate and advocate for data management and utilization needs to the proper channels internally at Tides
  • Lead cross-departmental, analytical initiatives assessing trends, risks, and indicators to inform and adapt business operations and strategies
  • Support developing a variety of surveying, interviewing, and other information gathering tools to gain feedback from internal and external stakeholders

Learning & Evaluation // 30%

  • Integrate operational, financial, and client data to identify opportunities to improve processes and service delivery
  • Develop recommendations to improve Tides’ services based on continual learning through data collection, reporting, and evaluation
  • Support internal evaluations of Tides’ services and cross-departmental initiatives to help Tides make data-guided decisions
  • Help build Tides’ infrastructure for the ongoing development of internal evaluation frameworks, tools, and expertise to assess the impact of Tides’ services

Administrative & Communication // 20%

  • Provide logistical support for coordinating cross-departmental evaluations (scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, coordinating schedules, documenting decisions, etc.)
  • Document and communicate data retention policies and monitoring protocols for ensuring data integrity and accountability
  • Support internal communications to encourage a data-guided culture, shared understanding of MILE programming and outcomes, and trust in data across Tides

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Data & Analysis

  • Experience and strong skills managing, analyzing, and reporting data in Excel
  • Desire to learn new systems and programs utilized by Tides to manage information
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze information rapidly and to develop persuasive arguments based on quantitative and qualitative data
  • Evaluation and surveying experience of internal and external stakeholders desired
  • Demonstrated innovation in analytical reporting, data management, and frameworks

  • Must be able to plan and manage complex projects with contributors from various functions and positions across Tides
  • Must be proficient and comfortable working in teams on project-based work in both structured and unstructured environments

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance, or other quantitative field or similar experience
  • 5+ years of applicable experience
  • Professional experience using Excel, Salesforce, and NetSuite or similar programs
