Position Overview:

The 5th Avenue Theatre is seeking an Individual Giving Manager - Stewardship to join the Philanthropy Department to develop and implement a donor stewardship plan designed to grow donor engagement, encourage community-building, and increase the likelihood of continued contributions. The Individual Giving Manager - Stewardship will collaborate with the Individual Giving team to identify and support stewardship goals year-round. This position will be responsible for planning and creating consistent communications related to donor interests, building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring our stewardship events and activities are well organized, produced, promoted, executed, and documented. In addition, this role is responsible for managing a small portfolio of individual donors, drafting annual solicitation appeals and following up to secure annual gift renewals.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, manage, execute, promote and document all donor stewardship events and activities. This includes the Director’s Dinner, Season Preview Dinner, show supporter and special engagement opportunities, donor trips, and management of The 5th Avenue Theatre’s donor lounge, the Producer’s Club.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for philanthropy events.
• Maintain a calendar for the Producer’s Club and manage communications with volunteers, vendors, and stakeholders who also use or service the space.
• Work closely with Senior Philanthropy Manager to plan and execute Show Supporter events and gifts.
• Collaborate with Individual Giving team to create a strategic and comprehensive engagement and stewardship plan for all donors.
• Coordinate and manage logistics for The 5th Avenue Theatre donor trips, including the Golden Ticket raffle winner experience.
• Build and manage a small portfolio of Circles donors who give, or have the capacity to give, $1,500+ annually.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and tracking of event logistics, expenses and donor records.
• Coordinate with Education, Community Engagement, Artistic, Marketing and New Works departments to identify and develop opportunities for greater Circles engagement and donor stewardship.
• Support and attend philanthropy and special events.
• Manage related special projects as assigned.
• Model and support the mission and values of The 5th Avenue Theatre.
• Actively participate in learning and development in order to understand institutional racism, build cultural competence, and commit to a workplace that embeds Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility & Belonging in our work.

Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

• Experience and proven success managing events ranging from 10-200 attendees.
• Experience in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on individual fundraising strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with great attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to building a welcoming and inclusive space for staff, donors, and community stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience proofreading.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse constituencies and create positive community connections. Including attention to maintaining regular connections with donors and stakeholders by responding to inquiries in a timely manner and proactively reaching out to ensure continued engagement.
• Demonstrated success recruiting, training, and communicating with volunteers.
• Knowledge of and competency with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), basic data entry, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom).
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or Tessitura preferred.
• Interest in adopting the Community-Centric Fundraising principles.
• Passion for the arts and, ideally, musical theater.
• Reliable transportation to allow attendance at stewardship and other philanthropy events as required. This position involves frequent night and weekend hours, including attending designated 5th Avenue Theatre shows, events, and activities.
