Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), the largest community college in Central Massachusetts serving over 13,000 students in degree and certificate programs, adult education and workforce development. QCC offers over 70 associate degree and certificate career options in Business, Health Care, Technology, Liberal Arts, and Human Services. Additionally, over 137 credit and 300 noncredit courses are offered online, as well as a wide variety of classroom non-credit courses, workshops, and seminars. Classes are provided on the main campus, in downtown Worcester (Healthcare, Workforce Development, Continuing Education), at the Worcester Senior Center (Hospitality & Recreation Management), at Burncoat High School (Automotive Technology), and in the city of Southbridge.

General Statement

Responsible for identifying federal, state, local, private and corporate grant opportunities as part of the Grants Development Team. The Grants Manager researches, drafts and edits grant proposals, supporting documents and other related requests on behalf of the College and the QCC Foundation. This position may also be involved in corporation, foundation, and other major gifts solicitation, and cultivating and managing relationships with key external audiences and constituents. Twelve-month non- professional staff position.

Supervises support personnel as assigned.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Identifies potential grants from government, foundation and corporate funding sources and reviews potential opportunities with the Grants Development Team.
  2. Develops and submits proposals for funding based on feedback from Grants Team and best practices.
  3. Proactively engages faculty and staff in the development of grant proposals.
  4. Develops supporting documents to guide the proposal development process.
  5. Works with team members to complete the document review process and submit proposals.
  6. Ensures appropriate approvals are secured prior to proposal submission.
  7. Collaborates with other institutions or agencies to pursue grant partnership opportunities.
  8. Updates grants management database with project status.
  9. Participates in the grants management process, as needed, to help ensure grant funded initiatives meet or exceed contract requirements and funder expectations.
  10. Actively supports the teaching and learning process; practicing honesty and integrity in and out of the classroom; striving to create and support a student-centered environment while fostering academic innovation and excellence.
  11. Works actively with other areas of the college to ensure a spirit of college wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork. Respects the function of dissent in an academic institution while advancing a collegial atmosphere of campus collaboration.
  12. Embraces the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and supporting the equal rights of allpeople by advancing the understanding and appreciation of differences including age, race,gender, ability, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexualorientation.
  13. Provides flexible, responsive and high quality service to all, be they students, community, orstaff, and continuously assessing processes and procedures and revising accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree.
  2. Three (3) years of grant writing experience.
  3. MS Office Suite and Internet experience.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication.
  5. Demonstrated experience procuring large grants from government sources.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in appropriate discipline
  2. Grant writing experience in higher education.

 

Salary/Hours

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience with a hybrid or fully remote option. Full benefit package.
