Description
FCA is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to providing help and hope to Long Island’s most vulnerable children, families, seniors and communities.
To assist in achieving its mission, FCA is seeking a Grants Director to join its growing Development Department, reporting to the Chief Development Officer. The selected candidate will craft proposals for new and existing programs, and complete required grants reports. They will also research and track funders and potential funders.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Generates revenues for FCA programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented grant proposals, taking a lead role in many larger, more complex grant opportunities.
- Works with the CDO and Executive staff to manage donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy for grants.
- Works with the CFO and program staff to formulate budgets for proposals
- Assists with making contacts related to fundraising, such as contacting other agencies for letters of support; contacting funders as needed to obtain/update information, promote FCA and secure funding
Qualifications and Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of five years' experience in grant writing, preferably with a non-profit social services institution with a proven track record of success.
- Valid NYS Driver's license
Schedule:
- Full-time; minimum of 35 hours per week, hours may include some evenings and weekends.
