Description

We're looking for an ambitious individual to join The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver as our Fundraising Manager. This individual would be in charge of helping us grow our metropolis through prospecting, networking, and communicating with members of our parish.

The fifty parishes, three chapels, and two monasteries under the spiritual guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver are scattered throughout 1.3 million square miles encompassing the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, as well as the western parts of Louisiana and Missouri.

Individual does not need to be Greek Orthodox, but someone comfortable in a church setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare & lead annual plans for all fundraising development activities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Visits to Metropolis affiliated parishes.
  • One on one meetings with potential donors.
  • Plan and supervise direct mail and email solicitations
  • Phone-a-thon, special events, and other solicitation activities as needed.
  • Responsible for all matters related to the planning, execution, management, and support of all fundraising activities. The individual should be able to use past work experiences to assist in this area.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts. Maintain an active pool of prospective benefactors who can support the ministries of the Metropolis.
  • Develop a donor database for the Metropolis which includes past 10 years donors with a giving record.
  • Ensure prompt gift acknowledgement, for all benefactors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Metropolitan, Bishop, and/or Chancellor to include special projects to assist in the overall fund-raising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Involvement in a non-profit fundraising campaign, or three years' demonstrated success and experience in managing a fundraising development program.
  • Thorough knowledge of fundraising principles.
  • The individual should have good knowledge of social media platforms and work in conjunction with our social media staffer
  • Enthusiasm and excellent people skills are essential. The successful candidate must have the flexibility to handle the needs of a fast-paced office and the special needs of benefactors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to lead and motivate others, especially volunteers.
  • Thoroughness in planning and implementing work, including goals, budget, timetables, and action steps to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Metropolis Chancellor, Metropolis Council, other staff members, campus representatives, and volunteers.
  • Affinity with, and passion for, the overall mission of a successful Ministry.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $80,000.00 per year
