The Fiscal and Grant Manager is responsible for securing, managing, and reporting grant related initiatives to support the work of the IMEC field team.  This position is responsible for formulating and advising funding related policies and procedures to ensure IMEC meets short term and long-term objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.  This position will work regularly with IMEC Leadership, IMEC field team and partner/grant funders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Secure and execute funding to support project work.

  • Establish relationships with partners and other federal state, and local grant sources.
  • Work with IMEC team to execute project related requirements for funding.
  • Responsible for developing grant budgets and monitoring actual expenditures.
  • Track progress towards grant program objectives.
  • Work with IMEC accounting and Bradley University Controller’s Office to invoice grant sources.
  • Recommend IMEC team allocations to support program goals.

Routinely prepares and presents complex written and technical accounting reports.

  • Assist IMEC team to develop necessary reports for funding agencies.
  • Develop internal reports to support IMEC Leadership.
  • Regular interaction with partner/University Grant and Contract offices.
  • Regular communication with IMEC President, Leadership, and team.

Expert knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.

  • Support audit process to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Interact with partners to ensure compliance with the OMB guidance.
  • Ensure IMEC policies align with university policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements/Qualifications

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree preferred. An emphasis in Accounting or Finance is preferred.  Candidates for the position must have 5 or more years of working experience, with an emphasis on grant management.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to synthesize and present highly technical data succinctly to nontechnical business executives and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Language Skills:

Must be able to communicate effectively with community organizations, public stakeholders, third-party resources, client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and to develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources.

Reasoning Ability:

Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; be able to plan; be well organized; work well under pressure; take initiative, and be flexible and cooperative.

Physical Demands:

Position requires the ability to sit for long periods at a computer terminal.  Some walking, standing, and bending are required.

Work Environment:

Normal office environment and standard hours with extended hours and weekend work as required. Requires the ability to travel by aircraft and automobile to remote locations as needed, and the ability to drive/operate an automobile.
