Description

Children’s Assistive Technology Service (CATS) provides for the re-use of pediatric rehabilitation equipment and assistive technology devices in Virginia.  CATS serves young people with disabilities, who reside or receive rehabilitative/medical services in Virginia, who need assistive technology to assist with mobility, positioning and communication. This includes, but is not limited to, neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions that cause impaired function.   Assistive technology allows a child with disabilities to play with friends and siblings, to have more opportunities for learning, and to be more independent.  All of these can lead to a happier child and healthier families!

We are seeking an Executive Director to lead our organization into a future which will allow increased access to durable medical equipment to children and families who need it, when they need it to acquire the next step of development, participate in family activities, and not only survive but thrive.

Position Details

The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of Children’s Assistive Technology Service (CATS).  The executive director provides leadership to the organization and assures that the operations of CATS meet all federal, state and grantor standards. In particular the executive director:

  • manages the financial health of the organization by setting and meeting annual income and expense budgets.

  • develops and maintains strong strategic relationships with the civic organizations and businesses in our community (school systems, medical facilities, government).

Qualifications:

Our successful candidate will have exhibited broad leadership skills needed in a non-profit organization which include:
