Description

About the Organization

http://www.freshstartpalletproducts.org/

Since the launch of Fresh Start Pallet Products in 2015, the organization has grown into a thriving nonprofit social enterprise while remaining true to their mission; “Building Furniture and Rebuilding Lives.”

Through education and employment opportunities, individuals are able to rebuild their lives after struggles with addiction, poverty, refugee status and other life challenges. In doing so, they empower individuals to build marketable and employable skills and capabilities. The organization, a social enterprise model, is supported through the sale of recycled and repurposed wood, transforming these materials into fine indoor and outdoor furniture and products, and provides training, through its Fresh Start Academy’s 8 week curriculum, where class participants receive specialized training in furniture construction, framing and sheetrock installation. Many who complete the training are members of the Fresh Start Pallet Products team or have found employment with other area businesses.
