Organization Description: Full Circle Farm Sanctuary (FCFS) is a 160 acre sanctuary located in Warm Springs, Georgia that serves as a permanent safe haven for farmed animals.  In addition to providing a nurturing lifetime home for over 150 animals here at our sanctuary, we also network with other sanctuaries and animal advocates in efforts to help find loving forever homes for many more animals who need our help.  Likewise, through one-on-one interactions with our rescued animal resident ambassadors, along with community outreach and education, we strive to bring public perceptions of farmed animals full circle to embrace true compassion for all.

Job Title: Executive Director

Job Status: Full Time Salaried

Immediate Supervisor: Board of Directors

Job Summary:

The Executive Director is the key management leader of Full Circle Farm Sanctuary. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Board Governance:  Works with Board of Directors in order to fulfill the organization’s mission:

  • Lead FCFS in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission
  • Communicate effectively with the Board and provide all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions in a timely manner

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization:

  • Maintain the fiscal integrity of FCFS, including submission of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
  • Operate the organization within the approved budget and within the approved financial policies, ensuring maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position
  • Develop and maintain fundraising initiatives necessary to support FCFS’ financial viability, including, for example, organization of annual galas and other events, fundraising programs, email campaigns, etc.
  • Utilize financial best practices in accordance with industry standards and auditor guidelines
  • Maintain and report on external relationships with financial grantors and fundraising professionals

3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach

  • Develop, implement, and manage FCFS programs that carry out the organization’s mission
  • Complete and execute the organization’s strategic plan to ensure that FCFS can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future
  • Help enhance FCFS’ image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations

4) Organization Operations. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate

  • Manage a staff of 8-10, including hiring, annual reviews, and other personnel matters, through collaborative and compassionate leadership
  • Help hire and manage third party contractors
  • Ensure compliance with FCFS policies and adherence to industry best practices
  • Sign all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization, within the limits defined in the Expenditure Approval policy
  • Ensure legal and liability compliance, including annual local, state, and federal business and solicitation registrations and insurance policies

Professional Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Five or more years management experience (nonprofit preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative leadership skills
  • Proven track record of fundraising success
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to and ability to learn, basics of animal care
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
  • Proven excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
  • Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
  • Knowledge of, and ability to articulate, farmed animal exploitation and its effects on health and the environment
  • Ability to convey a vision of FCFS’ strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and donors
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate volunteers and external service providers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff in a positive and motivating manner
  • Strong technical skills, including Office Suite, Google Suite, and project management software (Monday.com experience preferred)
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Strong project management and event planning experience
  • Must adhere to a vegan lifestyle

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • May include moderate to heavy work – Exerts from 30lbs to 50lbs force. Standing, sitting, reaching, typing and walking are common
