POLICY AND PLANNING

•Commits to and carries out the missions, vision, and strategic goals of the MEDIAGIRLS organization

•Ensures missions impact, organizational growth and sustainability

•Provides administrative support for Board policy making

•Engages the Board in planning and implementing the strategic plan

•Monitors the quality and effectiveness of individual programs, designs future revenue generating opportunities, providing the Board with data and information needed to evaluate program effectiveness, impact, and outcomes

 

PROGRAMMING

•Leads content and curriculum design of all MEDIAGIRLS programming

•Ensures all content and programming are legally protected and of the highest quality

•Seeks opportunities to enhance the breadth, depth, and reach of content and learning experiences for all stakeholders and audiences

 

BUDGET AND FINANCES

•Manages fiscal stewardship with the Board

•Prepares and proposes budget to the Board

•Forecasts budget health and sustainability each month

•Manages programs according to Board-adopted financial policies and budget guidelines

 

FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT

•Develops fundraising plan and coordinates overall fundraising efforts

•Ensures staff support for fundraising

•Updates the Board on development efforts

•Solicits contributions from outside donors and builds a culture of stewardship among stakeholders

• Engages board members in fundraising activities when applicable

• Evaluates effectiveness of fundraising strategies

• Leads the grant application process – seeking grant opportunities, writing grants with professionalism and creativity, and delivering presentations

 

STAFF OVERSIGHT, COMPENSATION, AND EVALUATION

• Provides general leadership and oversight of team to ensure strong and effective staff resources

• Oversees and evaluates all staff, full time and contracted

• Sets staff salaries with budget constraints

• Provides coaching and leadership to ensure individual growth

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS, PARTNERSHIPS, AND COMMUNICATIONS

• Develops messaging that conveys the organization’s mission in partnership with full Board and staff

• Provides inspirational thought-leadership to gather corporate, non-profit, and individual partnerships

• Actively seeks and builds opportunities for corporate sponsorship

• Nurtures and maintains all partnerships thought active outreach and follow through

• Serves as public face and official spokesperson for the organization

• Coordinates and leads public relations, all events, communication, and public advocacy efforts

• Leads, coordinates, writes thought-leadership pieces that engage the community, donors, and corporate partners

 

MARKETING AND ADMINISTRATION

• Leads and maintains the MEDIAGIRLS brand

• Ensures that the website and all MEDIAGIRLS resources and materials are up-to-date and on brand

• Develops, delivers, writes, approves content for website, podcasts, blogs, and other thought-leadership pieces on a regular basis

• In close partnership with the team, ensures all operations and programming are running as efficiently and effectively as possible

 

BOARD LEADERSHIP

•Develops, nurtures, and sustains strong working relationship with Board members, creates Board meeting agenda, and ensures Board members have necessary information and meeting materials

•Attends most Board meetings, except specific executive sessions

•Develops and reviews committee structure and individual committees to ensure alignment with mission and strategic goals

•Identifies committee members and sits on appropriate committee meetings as a non-voting member

•Ensures all committees have staff and materials support and resources•Identify skills, expertise, and attributes needed for the Board

•Shares identification of new Board members with the Board and leads the new Board member Orientation

•Engages Board members regularly in the work of the organization

•Evaluates Board development opportunities in collaboration with the Board Chair and Governance Committee
