Description
The Proposed Niazee College of Osteopathic Medicine (NCOM) is searching for an Executive Assistant (EA) to support the Founding Dean/Chief Academic Officer (CAO), and the executive team of Associate Deans, the Founder and College President, Executive Vice President, Chairman of the Board and other administrative personnel. As a newly developing institution, the College is looking for an EA who will oversee the administrative management of the Office of the Founding Dean/CAO to help ensure an efficiently running institution. The EA will report direct to the Founding Dean/Chief Academic Officer.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, and highly tuned interpersonal skills; show an interest in learning all aspects of the position and responsibilities of the office; show willingness to grow in the position as the institution advances, as well as possess excellent critical thinking skills. This ideal candidate will also show leadership and personnel management skills.
The primary responsibilities involve learning multiple software platforms, understanding the basics of the extensive regulatory/legal framework of medical education and employment in Illinois, planning/organizing, performing administrative duties, public/professional/student interaction, event management, project management assistance, creating reports, and data-entry input and extraction.
As a member of our team, the EA is an active participant in our strategic initiatives, serving as staff on various Dean/CAO committees. Exceptional people skills—written, nonverbal, and verbal—are essential in fostering effective communication and building strong working relationships within our office, NCOM, and across the broader osteopathic professional community. Our department places a strong emphasis on confidentiality, and the understanding of its importance is crucial in maintaining the integrity and trust within our team. The EA should have a service-focused mindset in supporting organizational staff and students and work well with different personalities in a professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four years of experience as an assistant in a higher education, healthcare, or business setting with demonstrated experience working on a wide variety of special projects/special assignments
- Superb technical use of Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn software programs
- Organizational, project, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
- Ability to prioritize competing needs
- Ability to take initiative and work creatively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of academic and medical trends and concerns
Salary:
- $65,000 - $85,000 FTE and commensurate with experience
Schedule:
- For the right candidate, NCOM is willing to consider a part-time or full-time position and initial hybrid options.
