Description

The Executive Director is the key management leader of EcoAction Partners.  The ED is responsible or overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. The ED is responsible for fundraising through grant proposals, contract service agreements and developing other revenues necessary as well as establishing and continuing collaborative relationships with external community partners.  The Executive Director is the ambassador and advocate for EcoAction Partners in the community.  The position requires strong autonomy and independent decision making.

The Executive Director reports to the EcoAction Partner board of directors.

Essential Duties:

  • Works with board in order to fulfill the organization mission.
  • Financial Performance and Viability:   Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
  • Leadership
  • Organization Mission and Strategy:  Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Organization Management:  Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
  • Marketing and Public Outreach

 

 

Requirements

Professional Qualifications Needed

•Strong commitment to environmental sustainability on a personal level•Grant development, writing, and management skills and experience

•Non-profit management skills and experience

•Knowledge of the importance of Greenhouse gas reduction efforts and ability to place our organizational goals with in a greater context

•Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience or Master’s degree with appropriate experience managing programs

•Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers and the overall community.

•A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.

•Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.

•Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.

•Strong written and oral communication skills

•Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.

•Proficient tech literacy – experience with excel, file management, email management, Squarespace website management, basic online security awareness, QuickBooks

Performance Evaluation

The Executive Director’s performance will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors based on established goals and essential duties.
