Description

The Director of the Program Department will be responsible for creating and overseeing the development and execution of nationwide programming which promotes the mission of Hadassah. This position will particularly help facilitate the organization’s new emphasis on expanding online programming offerings; experience and adeptness with digital platforms is essential.

Job Responsibilities

Create and develop new programs and sustain existing ones:

  • Seek out new and creative program ideas primarily of a digital nature but in-person as well
  • Facilitate all facets of program implementation from concept through launch
  • Grow significant numbers of members engaging online
  • Explore ways to utilize online programs to draw potential new members
  • Write and develop program curricula as needed
  • Determine program evaluation plan, metrics, and follow-up
  • Develop yearly Hadassah Program Guide
  • Work with Marketing department to promote programs on both a national and local level
  • Facilitate connections between Hadassah chapters implementing the same programs
  • Create partnerships and coalitions with other organizations to leverage the impact and reach of programs developed by Hadassah or in conjunction with other organizations.
  • Manage consultants as needed

Manage Operations:

  • Manage daily operations and program implementation working with other departments and divisions
  • Supervise program and project managers
  • Develop and approve budgets and operations
  • Provide senior management with detailed reports of program activities and impact
  • Work closely with volunteer counterparts

Education and Experience

  • BA plus at least 5 years of experience in a related field. MA, MSW, MAED, MPH preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing digital programs
  • Experience working with lay leadership
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Background in the following areas a plus:
    • Women’s health
    • Wellness initiatives
    • Community organizing
    • Women’s issues
    • Social gathering for a purpose

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of MS office, program management software (e.g. Basecamp, MS Project etc.) and digital video conferencing and/or educational platforms
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Attention to details
  • Proactive problem solver Adept at on-line and in-person program development and curriculum design
