Description

The Opportunity:

We are OEA Choice Trust, the only organization solely dedicated to supporting the holistic well-being of Oregon public education employees and we have an opening for a full-time Director of Strategic Partnerships to join our small and dynamic team.

This leadership role promotes the holistic well-being of Oregon’s public education employees by supporting education communities in addressing the critical connection between equity and well-being. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the development of new partnerships, collaborations and initiatives, as well as identifying subject experts with whom to consult to ensure the Trust’s initiatives align with best practices and respond to current or emerging needs.  The Director of Strategic Partnerships will stay informed of evolving best practices and serve as a subject expert in holistic and human-centered workplace well-being, as well as in Oregon’s public education systems and policies related to employee well-being.

This work involves understanding and responding to the current needs and priorities of Oregon education employees who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), LGBTQA+, disabled, classified employees, and others who have been historically excluded from guiding decisions or norms that impact their well-being. This role will seek to understand and honor the complexity of diverse experiences, resources and needs among education employees who may work in very large to very small organizations/communities and in remote, rural, metro area, or diverse geographic regions.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships will work closely with the Executive Director as a thought-partner in setting annual and long-range strategic plans for the organization and informing program improvement. They will represent the organization publicly at Trust-hosted events, partner conferences, speaking engagements, and by participating in committees or task forces related to the Trust’s work. This position supervises 1-2 employees and requires occasional travel, locally and statewide.

What we are looking for:

  • Clear understanding of the intersection between equity and employee well-being, and how organizations can design their systems to promote the health, well-being and resilience of employees.
  • Genuine interest and commitment to equitable well-being in service of Oregon public education employees.
  • 7-10 years of experience in meaningfully building collaborative relationships and fostering strong partnerships across professional roles and functions.
  • Multiple years of experience in leading or implementing initiatives to align organizational practices with values of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, justice and trauma-informed care.
  • 7-10 years of professional management experience in public health, education, workplace well-being programs, or a related field.
  • years of demonstrated experience in co-creating and implementing strategic priorities and goals.
  • Typically, 3+ years of experience as a supervisor and strengths-based leader, or sufficient related experience.
  • Experience in a leadership role addressing big picture and long-term strategy within complex systems.
  • Experience as a subject expert with strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
