Project Place promotes a community of hope and opportunity for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the skills, education and resources needed to obtain and sustain employment and housing. For over 50 years, Project Place has been a resource for individuals who are experiencing homelessness in Boston. Through innovative programming, including social enterprises, we facilitate the successful transition of individuals to economic self-sufficiency. Comprehensive programming consists of classroom instruction, credential training, case management services, housing and job placement, retention and career services.

As Director of Stabilization & Client Services you will lead all aspects of Project Place’s case management and client stabilization teams. You will develop, manage, and report on the activities of Project Place programs and staff in the areas of housing, employment, and mental health services. You will provide a clinical presence and expertise, coordination of services, consultation, coaching and training for staff.  You will work closely with staff to build their capacity to support individuals experiencing homlessness. You will be most successful in the role if you are highly motivated by the mission of Project Place and have demonstrated commitment to working with individuals to build skills and resources to obtain employment and housing.

The Director Stabilization & Client Services reports to the Executive Director and will work closely with members of the senior team in an effort to promote cross collaboration amongst teams. You will be responsible for assuring Project Place’s provision of quality stabilization and clients services delivered by a team of case management and program staff.  You will provide direct supervision to a team of 3 managers and their reports in a comprehensive, collaborative manner, with an emphasis on Project Place values.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Director of Stabilization & Client Services, you will be responsible for the following areas of work:

Staff Leadership and Development

  • Serve as the clinical presence to the team and provide clear and consistent staff support in case management and client stabilization
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support for staff and social work interns around practices that client sustainability
  • Provide crisis support and response including supporting staff and clients with intervention and connection to any necessary services
  • Conduct weekly individual meetings with staff
  • Support the leadership development of team members through identification of needs and providing formal and informal embedded and ongoing training in collaboration with team leaders
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, and development of managers and supporting their work with their client-facing staff
  • Assist with onboarding and development program for new staff, in collaboration with team leaders

Program Leadership

  • Represent Project Place at various community and municipal meetings, including those with the City of Boston, Department of Neighborhood Development, and Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance.
  • Serve as member of the Senior Leadership Team and Program Management Team actively supporting the growth and development of the individuals aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and core values
  • Participate in all case management meetings, staff meetings and other required program/organization meetings/events
  • Participate in relevant required trainings and seek out training opportunities that support professional development
  • Track, document and analyze key client enrollment data using data management tools aligned with program needs to assess service and program effectiveness and areas for improvement
  • Lead all internal and external reporting related to homeless resource center and agency stabilization services

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a current license to practice independently in the state of Massachusetts
  • Extensive management experience, including hiring, supervising, and motivating staff
  • Strong analytical skills and use of data to inform program strategy and development
  • Reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and a systems-oriented thinking
  • Experience training adults and providing direct feedback regarding approach and practice
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative, patience, and resourcefulness in adapting to change and responding to opportunity in an non-profit entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, operational, and communication skills; comfort with pivots to harness opportunity to advance our work
  • Ability to de-escalate client crisis situations to ensure the safety fellow staff members and provide proper documentation of all critical incidents
  • Commitment to Project Place’s mission to end homelessness by providing pathways to attain jobs, housing, and hope

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $87,000 and is commensurate with experience. Project Place offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Paid time off, beginning at 3 weeks per year in the first year of employment

This position is full-time with availability for occasional evening work. The Project Place team is currently planning for a hybrid return to office model beginning in April, where teams will come back onsite on a rotating schedule 2-3 days per week.

TIMELINE AND HIRING PROCESS
