Hispanic American Community Education and Services (HACES) ensures that every immigrant that walks through its doors gets accurate and useful information that enables them to build successful lives. “HACES” was adopted as the name for this community organization to imply that everyone “can do it” and “can make it.” HACES is recognized for its expertise and navigational support for immigrants and citizens to become knowledgeable, empowered members of society.  JOB SUMMARY: The newly created Director of Programs will support HACES’ mission and vision by enhancing and expanding agency programs to meet community needs. While the Director of Programs will be responsible for the management of daily activities, focus should be in line with HACES’ strategic plans, goals, and objectives.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership and managerial skills as demonstrated by successfully building genuine, mutually respectful relationships across the organization. This position serves as a role model for open communication, transparency, and accountability.

POSITION: Reports to Executive Director (ED)

Program Administration

  • Responsible for program budgeting and grant administration.
  • Identifies sources of funding and participates in grant writing.
  • Maintains official records and documents, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assists in the development of HACES programs, policies and procedures.

Program Development

  • Oversees writing of grant proposals and fund raising presentations and activities.
  • Implements HACES’ programs, assesses needs and ensures that program objectives are met.
  • Utilizes knowledge and experience to identify, recommend and implement quality improvements.
  • Reports program outcomes to ED and HACES’

Staff Support and Development

  • Provides direction, support and supervision to program staff.
  • Encourages staff and volunteer development and education.
  • Determines correct job fit for individual skills within both professional and volunteer staff for best work outcomes across organization.

 Community Relations

  • Establishes or participates in community partnerships and collaborations to further HACES’ mission.
  • Participates in fundraising events, representing HACES in the community.
  • Monitors customer and community satisfaction for HACES and works to grow programs as identified.
  • Promotes active and broad participation of volunteers in all areas of the organization's work.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS in Human Services Management or related field plus three years’ experience in similar position

or

  • BA/BS plus five years significant planning and organizational experience in human services.
  • Experience working with immigrants and refugees
  • Successful track record of grant writing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Must possess, maintain and have regular access to transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
