Description
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key policymakers at the state, federal, and local (in consultation with Community Liaisons) levels, such that MFH is a trusted source of information and advisement on issues of importance to the Foundation’s mission and goals.
- Identify opportunities for MFH to be a resource to policymakers and create a loop of information regarding happenings at the state capital and how they relate to MFH strategies and target communities.
- Participate as a thought partner and expert consultant on Foundation’s cross-functional teams, identifying, developing, and implementing strategies for government relations work to forward Foundation goals.
- Oversee and manage the Foundation’s work with state and federal government affairs contractors.
Minimum levels of education and experience.
Education: Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or related field and/or or a Law Degree required.
Experience: Six (6) or more years of relevant work experience required. Deep understanding of key issues in health policy (health care financing, Medicaid/Medicare, etc.) and experience developing and managing complex, non-partisan policy and government relations strategies.
